How to make Pizza Pan de Sal

Do you like cooking in your home? If yes, here's another recipe for you to try. Make your homemade pizza in a simple way. Today I will share to you guys how to make pizza using bread called Pan de Sal. Pan de Sal is a lowly bread often found on breakfast tables in Filipino homes. It is also a favorite snack, made into sandwiches with  various fillings. Here, pan de sal is dressed up as pizza. Are you ready?

Prepare the following ingredients:

  • 4 large pan de sal
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup diced green peppers
  • 1 cup diced onions
  • 1 cup leftovers spaghetti sauce or canned pizza sauce
  • 1 cup chopped ham (left over will do)
  • 1 cup grated cheese (Cheddar or mozzarella)

Now do the procedure:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Slice each pan de sal into two lengthwise.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil. Saute tomatoes, green peppers and onions until slightly wilted. With a slotted spoon, remove vegetables from pan and transfer to a bowl. Pat dry with paper towel.
  4. Spread sauce over surface of each pan de sal slice.
  5. Spoon sauteed tomato mixture and chopped ham on pan de sal slices.
  6. Sprinkle grated cheese on top. Bake in preheated oven 5 to 10 minutes or until pan de sal is crisp and cheese has melted.
Note: You can also bake the pizza pan de sal in a toaster oven.
